This stunning Miami wedding from Captured Photography by Jenny features a chic, modern style that is perfect for Chelsea and Andrew, a hip, young couple from NYC. Featuring a chic pink and gold palette (and sequined bridesmaids’ dresses!), I am loving all of the glitz and glam this wedding has! The stunning bride Chelsea is here to share her planning insight with us:
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
My mother/ wedding planner (Donna Capri of Donna Capri Events). She helped me come up with innovative ideas – especially the gold bridesmaids dresses (she even picked out most of them!).
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
Reputation and pictures/ past performances. As I was planning a Miami wedding from NYC, I couldn’t meet the majority of my vendors in person, and relied heavily on phone calls, emails and of course, my mom!
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
Hip & Modern elegance. We rented long mirrored tables, which bordered the dance floor adorned with extra long tapers, infinity candle boxes, and blooming hot pink and fuchsia floral arrangements. Instead of an escort card table we had giant boards with our guests names printed on them. Our invitation suite from Bella Figura was the perfect amount of young, modern and chic, which pretty much sums up our style.
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
The band! They were incredible and really felt the crowd out. It was important to us that everyone danced the night away, so we encouraged that by passing tequila shots around the dance floor as the Heatwave band jammed all night! The party continued as DJ Zak Mann spun old school classics like Biggie’s “Hypnotize” & everyone munched on mini grilled cheese sandwiches, pizza bagels & ice cream cones.
To end the night we gifted mini black and white cookies to all of our guests, which added a little bit of NY to our Miami wedding.
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
Don’t sweat the small stuff – Nobody will ever notice that one missed detail. Try to relax and have the best night of your life.
Y’all. Gold sequined bridesmaid dresses? Be still my beating heart! Metallic bridesmaids’ attire is going to be a huge trend and I can’t wait to see all of the pretty maids in their gilded gowns.
How about you? Would you let your ladies shine on your big day? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Happy Planning!
