The color palette of this gold, aqua, and lavender wedding from Tracie Domino Events and Andi Diamond Photography might be the best I’ve seen yet! Inspired by the crystal clear blue-green waters of the Keys, lovely bride Lindsey wanted to incorporate aqua into her wedding design. Pairing aqua with sparkling gold elements and lavender floral accents created a stunning Florida wedding that is absolutely overflowing with chic elegance.
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
We hired Tracie Domino, a college friend, sorority sister, and established wedding planner in the Tampa/St Pete/Clearwater. She and my mother were the force behind our whole wedding. I had a few ideas, colors, and things Adam and I wanted, they did the rest!
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
That the planner we hired had a good idea of not only who we were, our style, and what we wanted, but also knew our budget. She always gave us a few suggestions for all the different vendors, but never suggested someone she knew we would love that we simply just couldn’t afford.
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
I have always loved the beach and the ocean, and the color turquoise, not teal, and not too blue, like the water in key west. This color was the center of what I wanted for the wedding…mint, golds, and whites. I had a whole Pinterest page. Then our decor company said we needed another accent color like pink or peach. In our meeting, my fiancé suggested lavender instead of pink or peach, and we all ran with it…it became the way we brought in color with flowers, table accents, and lighting. It was beautiful. Only after we were married did my loving husband reveal to me his thought process of why “purple” would go with “turquoise”… the Charlotte Hornets.
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
Marrying my best friend. Our vows we wrote. Having him serenade me to his favorite song Wagon Wheel in front of all of our friends and family. Walking down the aisle to “somewhere over the rainbow” over an aisle covered in lavender rose petals…it was a total dream. I have so many favorite moments, it’s hard to pick.
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
Relax. Don’t take anything too seriously. Even the things that are stressful, if you let them get you angry or upset, you lose sight of the fact that you get to get married. You are in love. And there’s a man waiting at the end of the aisle that looks at you like you are his angel. And no table charts, name cards, or decisions about centerpieces will change that. And that’s awesome.
Isn’t that color palette absolutely fabulous?! I would have never thought to combine aqua with lavender… and it makes it even better that the groom came up with the idea to use lavender as an accent color!
So tell me- what color would you pair with aqua? Are any of you using aqua in your own weddings?
